DenizBank supports Alacahöyük excavations
As DenizBank, we support many projects that will contribute to social development, and in this scope, we support Alacahöyük Excavations, the first national excavation in Turkey, since 2013.
It is known that excavations were started in Alacahöyük back in 1935 by a team headed by Dr. Hamit Zübeyr Koşar with the support of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and they were continued uninterruptedly until 1948. The excavations were resumed in 1997 team headed by Prof. Dr. Aykut Çınaroğlu and have continued so far. Discovery of a cultic complex dating back to Hittite Empire period during excavations in 2015-2016 and of an underground structure in 2016 are important milestones during the excavation process. As DenizBank, we are proud of contributing to revealing a historical socio-economic structure.
